At WECO Uganda, we believe that every child is valuable, every person deserves to be seen, and no life is ever forgotten. This belief shapes everything we do as we work to restore hope, strengthen families, and empower communities across Uganda. Through education, mentorship, and compassionate care, we strive to create spaces where vulnerable children feel safe, supported, and encouraged to discover their potential.
Love is the foundation of this work. When children experience genuine care and belonging, their hearts begin to heal. They grow in confidence, learn to trust others, and begin to extend the same kindness and compassion to those around them. In our classrooms, mentoring sessions, and daily interactions, we seek to show children that love is patient, forgiving, and powerful enough to transform lives.

One young girl in our program, Blueberry, reminds us of this truth. When she first joined WECO Uganda, she was quiet and withdrawn, struggling to express her thoughts or connect with others. Through the encouragement of mentors and the friendship of other children, she slowly began to open up. Today, Blueberry speaks with confidence, shares her ideas freely, and understands that she belongs to a community that cares deeply for her.
Building a Community of Belonging
Across many communities in Uganda, families face challenges caused by poverty, hardship, and generational trauma. These struggles can sometimes make it difficult for children to receive the emotional support they need. Through child sponsorship, education support, home visits, and mentorship, WECO Uganda is helping restore not only opportunities for children but also healing and hope within families and communities.
