WECO community uses a lifecycle approach in our educational programs that focuses on the needs of children at all stages of development: early childhood, basic education, adolescence, and youth. we are committed to seeing each child who is selected to receive a weco community scholarship, graduate and receive their diploma. here’s how we do it
How does Sponsoring a Child Work?
When someone sponsors a child, it means as a sponsor you have entered into a supportive relationship with a child in uganda, africa. after you sign-up to sponsor a child, you then will be introduced to your assigned sponsored child. the child you sponsor may be orphaned, in foster care, or a child living in extreme poverty. through your sponsorship, you can provide financial and emotional support to help encourage healthy development as they grow in life!
How does WECO community ensure that my support actually benefits the child i sponsor?
We work exclusively with the children in our sponsorship program and the WECO community child advocate team tracks education progress by meeting with each child’s teacher every month. in addition, our child advocates have regular one-on-one meetings with your sponsor child and conduct “home visits” to ensure they are receiving the care and safe upbringing every child deserves.
How does my sponsorship & support help?
Each WECO community sponsorship package includes tuition, school materials, school uniforms, meals throughout the day at school, and a personal relationship built with the child’s caregivers or family!
