Rescue, Restore & Rebuild Program
The Rescue, Restore & Rebuild Program is WECO Uganda’s rapid response initiative created to protect children who face abuse, neglect, or exploitation. The program focuses on immediate intervention to ensure that children in danger receive protection, care, and the support they need during crisis situations.
Beyond emergency response, the program works to help children and families move toward healing and stability. By supporting survivors and strengthening family environments, WECO Uganda helps rebuild safer homes and communities where children can grow without fear.
Rescue
Immediate crisis intervention is provided when a child is facing abuse, neglect, or exploitation. This includes medical referrals, safe shelter placement, legal advocacy, child protection case management, and coordination with local authorities to ensure the child’s safety.
Restore
After rescue, the program focuses on healing and protection through psychosocial support, counseling, education reintegration, ongoing child monitoring, and family mediation where appropriate to help restore confidence and stability.
Rebuild
The program strengthens families and communities through caregiver support, parent education, and awareness initiatives aimed at preventing harmful practices such as child marriage, FGM, child labor, sexual exploitation, and domestic violence.
